Join us Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Toronto’s Hart House.

Attendees will have the extraordinary experience of a unique performance by artist Beckie DiLeo who will paint live to the inspiration of pianist Shoshana Telner. This is a one of a kind collaboration of visual and musical arts during which audience members will watch as innovative, contemporary artist Beckie DiLeo transforms a blank canvas into a completed work of art, inspired by the dazzling accompaniment of internationally acclaimed classical pianist Shoshana Telner. Both performers are celebrated for their trademark style, grace and flair. The opportunity to witness this outstanding duo combining their remarkable talents and art forms is not to be missed.

The evening’s feast for the senses continues with delectable food and wine. To round off the event, enjoy a silent auction, which will include a variety of quality items and collectibles including artwork by the evening’s performer Beckie DiLeo. Guests will also be treated to a magnificent display of artwork by Toronto’s up-and-coming artists. Their artwork will be available for purchase with 50% of proceeds going towards Fertile Future.

CTV personality and Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor Anwar Knight will MC this remarkable event.

An Evening of Hope – Starring:

Pianist Shoshana Telner
One of Hamilton’s “most fascinating people and inspired individuals” (Hamilton Magazine), Canadian classical pianist Shoshana Telner has performed across Canada and abroad, making her orchestral début with the National Arts Centre Orchestra at the age of 16. Since then she has performed as soloist with several world renowned orchestras including the Québec Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Classical Orchestra, and the National Academy Orchestra. This celebrated pianist`s playing style is “full of fire and warmth” (The New York Times) and her solo and chamber music performances have been featured on CBC radio. Shoshana is currently a member of the Philadelphia based Shir Ami Ensemble, and has an ongoing passion for promoting new music. Visit her website

Artist Beckie Di Leo
With a modern, illustrative quality to her work, Toronto artist Beckie DiLeo draws inspiration from the world of fashion and graphic design. Infusing her love of dance, acting and painting, Beckie has been an innovator of “Live Performance Painting”, paving the way for a new movement in art and expression. Beckie has been active in the Toronto art community, painting, performing and teaching art for over 15 years. Among her many accomplishments, she has been commissioned to perform at the Spanish Filmmaker’s Extravaganza at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto International Film Festival Events, as well as Toronto and Montreal Fashion Weeks. Beckie DiLeo has left her stamp on Toronto. Her artwork can be found adorning the walls of fashion boutiques, corporate head offices, bistros and other fashionable locations throughout the city. Master of Ceremonies Anwar Knight
Anwar Knight joined the CTV News Toronto team as the Weekend Weather Reporter in 2007 and in 2009 he moved to reporting the weather weekdays on CTV Toronto’s NEWS AT NOON.
October 20, 2010 was a perfect day in the forecast as CTV NEWS AT NOON announced the return of Weather Specialist Anwar Knight. Anwar was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in May 2010, and kept viewers abreast of his treatment through his blog, Anwar’s Journey: The hodgepodge of an optimist.
Born and raised in Toronto, Anwar graduated from the Broadcast Journalism Program at Humber College. Prior to coming to CTV Toronto, Anwar could be seen on The New VR, The Weather Network, and Global Television as a weather anchor and general assignment reporter. Visit his Website.
